Communication through the ages!

Looking back in time there have been hundreds of ways in which man has communicated with man (and sometimes woman!) and as a bit of fun I thought I would  list them to see how many I could record over the days that I am doing this blog. My first one is pigeon with a sign. Apparently Julius Caesar used pigeons as messengers.

Birds naturally lead me on to the phenomenon that is Twitter.

Just getting started with Social Media can be terrifying, time-consuming and complex. Nonetheless it is increasingly becoming an integral part of local businesses’ marketing plan. I am just getting started here with my word press blog although you can also find me and others blogging at thebestofnewark or thebestofgrantham. I have been active on Twitter for a while; short, sweet messages really suit me and I have engaged with a number of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire businesses which has been fun and thought-provoking. Of course there is a right way and a wrong way of doing these things; doing it wrong can result in no results and a lot of wasted time which can be infuriating although the Twitter community is very patient and forgiving. When it is done well however, it is a powerful and timely way of communicating messages.

And no bird droppings!
